Let’s start at the beginning; I decided to switch to Unreal Engine because while looking for a job in Montreal, many companies had this minimum requirement to meet, so I rolled up my sleeves and got into it.

Let’s start with the basics, the first articles may seem trivial, but they outline my learning path. And I like the idea that they can also be helpful to someone else.

Today let’s talk about how to download and install Unreal Engine 5. This procedure is the same for both Windows and Mac.

As a first step, we go to the Epic Games website and create our account, which is a fundamental step to downloading the Epic Games client. If you are a gamer, you likely already have an account, and the client is installed on your computer.

Once you have installed Epic Games Launcher and logged in, it is time to install Unreal Engine. Go to the section of the same name and select the “Library” item and proceed with the installation. Find something to do in the meantime; it will take a little time…

After the installation, you can launch the editor for the first time and start using Unreal Engine 5.

Tips: The “Marketplace” section is full of content that can help in game creation, and every month, free assets are made available that usually are not.

In the following article, we continue with computer configurations.
See you in the next article🚀.
